Cenote Chempita
Located within the Jade Caverns lies the beautiful Cenote Chempita, sometimes called the Jade Cenote.
The Jade cenote is filled with bats, lots of bats. Along with this comes a strong odor of sulfur so it might not be the best cenote experience for the sensitive type. We recommend going to this during the wet season. During the dry season the water can become a little stagnant.

Cenote Aerolito
Cenote Aerolito is a public cenote, and you can enter without any problem, free access. It’s very close to downtown Cozumel about eight kilometers round trip to visit the cenote.
There are 2 different pools that make up the cenote. Please note we do not recommend this as a swimming cenote. It’s a cenote inhabited by crocodiles, so approach with extreme caution. Locals do use it for a swim but they are familiar with the area. If you are with a tour guide, you are probably safe.
It’s a stunning spot for sightseeing and photography, but under no circumstances should you swim or get close to the water unless you fancy becoming a crocodile’s next meal. Speaking with locals they state that warning signs have been repeatedly posted and removed by self-serving “tour guides” seeking a quick, convenient cenote stop.
While most cenotes do not harbor crocodiles, this one does because it’s connected underground to the marina just a short distance away. Exercise utmost care in this area.
